Sustainability at Altaterra
As part of the VELUX Group*, we are committed to reducing emissions from our own operations and our value chain. To do so, Our Group has set ambitious sustainability targets that follow the most ambitious pathway of the Paris Agreement and have been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative:
Reduce emissions from operations by 100% (Scope 1 & 2)
and halve emissions from the supply chain (Scope 3) by 2030.
*The VELUX Group manufactures and supplies Altaterra products and these are incorporated in the Group’s 2030 sustainability targets. All Altaterra production facilities and processes are part of VELUX Group’s operations including the supply chain, sourcing of raw materials and waste management.
Responsible Business
As part of VELUX Group, we run all aspects of our business in an ethical and responsible way. To this end, we have a number of policies that ensure: strive for zero accidents, responsible sourcing, respect for human rights and ethical business conduct.
In addition to the Group’s responsible business targets , Altaterra runs several initiatives that ensure
– Halving the paper use in the offices
– Sustainable sourcing of marketing materials
– Encouraging employees and customer engagement in sustainability initiatives
An Inclusive Workplace
All companies within the VELUX Group aim to foster a diverse, equitable and inclusive (DEI) workplace that enables everyone to thrive. Building a more diverse and inclusive company will accelerate innovation and entrepreneurship and enable us to meet our goals.
Climate and Nature
As part of our work towards the VELUX Group sustainable corporate strategy, by 2030 we aim to achieve near-zero emissions from our operations and to halve our value chain emissions. We have committed to remove and reduce the equivalent of our entire historical emissions from operations. We support biodiversity and we advocate for sustainable buildings

Commitment to Sustainable
Development Goals

Our products and solutions contribute to health and well-being in buildings. We place ‘products that are useful
to society’ at the core
of our strategy.

We are executing projects which lead to energy efficiency improvements in our manufacturing and office facilities, and replacing fossil-based energy sources with renewables. We also aim to minimise any negative impact on environment related to the waste from our own operations by ensuring proper on-site waste management.

We are stepping up to address climate change by setting ambitious carbon reduction targets.

We are moving to a single material recyclable zero-plastic packaginging. The materials we use for the product packaging are responsibly sourced paper and cardboard.
